“Out of nothing? Just by speaking? That is the part I cannot get past.”
Episode 01 · In the studio
God speaks, and a world appears. The last thing He makes is you — on purpose.

Let there be light: and there was light.Genesis 1:3

Creation bible story from the Book of Genesis. Light came on day one, but the sun was not made until day four. So what was shining?
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3, KJV)

In the beginning God spoke. Not with a hammer, with a voice. Darkness lay over the deep, and then there was light with nothing yet to shine it. Mira goes looking for the bulb. Tov just likes the light. They wonder their way through the seven days: sky and seas named, the bare ground answering his word, great whales and birds blessed to multiply. Then on the sixth day something new happens. "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness." Mira looks at the two new people and says, "They look a bit like trouble." Tov says, "They look a bit like Him." So God created man in his own image ... male and female created he them, blessed them, and gave them every fruit-bearing tree for food. "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good," and on the seventh day he rested. Then the story narrows to Eden, to dust and breath, to Adam naming every creature, to the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and to God's one command: "thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." From Adam's side came Eve, "bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh," two people and one life, naked and not ashamed.

John opened his Gospel the way Genesis opens the world: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made by him." Paul wrote that the same image has one clear face: "Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature ... for by him were all things created." That first light was always pointing past the sun, to the One who would step into our darkness and say, "I am the light of the world." From the first light to the Lamb, John keeps pointing to the same Word.

Mira is still not convinced. But she went looking for the bulb, and she is still thinking about the light. So are we.
Mira doubts. Tov trusts. The show lives in the space between them.

“Out of nothing? Just by speaking? That is the part I cannot get past.”

“He said it, and it was. That is the whole thing.”
Every beat of the film, in order — with the frame that carries it.

Before there was anything to see
Mira and Tov: I have questions

Day one: let there be light

What was shining before the sun?

The Word that made all things

Days two to four: sky, land, sun and stars
Day five: the waters come alive
Day six: made in his image
The image of the invisible God
Very good, and the seventh day

Eden, two trees, and one command

From the first light to the Lamb
Mira and Tov: still thinking about the light
Quoted line for line from the King James Version.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.
So God created man in his own image … male and female created he them.
Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.
Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh.
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature … for by him were all things created.
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
I am the light of the world.
the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

All 13 quoted spans were verified word for word against the King James Version, then read for fairness and reverence before a single frame was made. Mira & Tov are companions in a dramatized retelling, not people from the Bible.
The voice that said “let there be light” has a name: Jesus (John 1:1–3). The “very good” He made is exactly what He came back to win.
Here is the snag Mira could not get past: light arrives on day one, but the sun is not made until day four. So what was actually shining? She went looking for the bulb. Where would you start? Subscribe if you want the next Genesis story with us.
Short, vertical cuts — each built around one verse.

Light before the sun? On day one of creation, what was shining?

Seven days of creation: the sea, the stars, your own face, all of it started with words, not hands.

Made in the image of God? Creation bible story from Genesis, and Mira has notes.
